So, along with the stars, I had quite a bit of fun shooting the campfire while we sat around and looked skyward. The contrast is pretty intense, and I love how fluid the flames look. I didn't really do anything fancy with exposure here, although I did mess with slowing it down for a few shots. The effect is neat because you get the flames exposing on the sensor in several different locations, which makes it look particularly intense. However, I think I'd want to use the tripod if I was going to try the long exposures again, just because parts of the image still end up being softer than ideal.
